What is happening at the festival?
The programme celebrates Thai creativity and culture through live music, dance, fashion, food, crafts and wellbeing. Announced activities include:
- Thai music and dance performances
- Cooking demonstrations
- Fashion shows
- Wellness and aromatic workshops
- Muay Thai workshops and demonstrations
- Arts, crafts, jewellery and lifestyle stalls
- Thai tourism and cultural displays
The programme may differ each day. Look at the organiser’s latest schedule if there is a particular performance or workshop you want to see.
Thai food and drink
Vendors will serve savoury dishes from different parts of Thailand alongside desserts, traditional sweets, ice cream, Thai milk tea and beer. Entry is free, but food and drinks are purchased separately.
Popular stalls may develop queues around lunch and early evening. Arriving close to opening time can make it easier to browse before the busiest period.
How to get to Potters Fields Park
Potters Fields Park sits on the south side of the Thames next to Tower Bridge and close to City Hall. London Bridge station is the most useful major transport hub. Tower Hill station is across the bridge on the north side of the river.
The riverside area becomes busy during summer weekends. Public transport is simpler than driving, and walking along the Thames is part of the experience.
How to enjoy it on a small budget
Bring water, set a food budget and focus on the free programme. You can combine the festival with a riverside walk past HMS Belfast, Borough Market, Southwark Cathedral and Tate Modern. Walking across Tower Bridge is also free.
Borough Market is nearby but can be expensive, so eating beforehand is another option if you mainly want the performances and atmosphere.
